Jenna Lyons ‘Genuinely’ Doesn’t Know Whether She’ll Return to The Real Housewives of New York City

About the future of Jenna Lyons The Real Housewives of New York is still undecided.

During the visit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, the Loveseen Lashes founder and former J.Crew president continued to be coy about whether she’ll be back in front of the Bravo cameras for Season 2, dodging the host’s question, “Are you coming back?”

“When do you want me to come?” Lyons, 55, said, to which Fallon, 49, clarified: “No, Real Housewives — do you do that? Are you doing another season?”

“No, I thought I would be the host [The Tonight Show] with you, she said.

As he continued to press, Lyons did not relent. “I don’t know, what do you think?” she asked. “I don’t have an answer. I honestly don’t know.”

The crowd in Studio 6B seemed to encourage it, cheering Lyons to “do it,” along with her smile. “They want you to do it. They love you!” Fallon remarked as she told the crowd, “Thank you.”

Lyons previously told Fallon that hosting the show was “tough,” but that she’s grateful for Bravo’s passionate viewers.

“The people were wonderful,” she said. “Things I didn’t realize about that show — and to everyone who’s a fan, thank you — [but] the people were so good. Like, I get pulled over everywhere and people yell across the street, ‘I love you, Jenna!’ And I say: ‘I love you too!’ I currently have many relationships in progress. Like, people feel like they’re friends.”

Lyons joined RHONY this season amid a reboot of the franchise to better showcase the city’s diversity. She starred in the series alongside Jessel Taanka, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hussan, Erin Lichy and Brynn Whitfield.

Since the last episode of the reunion aired on October 29, questions have been raised about whether Lyons will return to the show. She did not hide that she was embarrassed to be on reality TV, not even to speak RHONY executive producer Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen October that her “thorn” of the season is “the whole show”.

“I really thought it would be easier,” she said. “It was hard! It’s shocking how, when the camera is actually on you … I thought I could handle it, but you know, I couldn’t.”

Similar anxieties have been expressed throughout RHONYis running. “I thought I would do better,” she admitted further View in July, explaining that the show didn’t help her become more familiar with female friendships. “I had this idea, ‘Oh, I was at the head of a very large company. I was working with a lot of people.’ But I realized that I paid all these people. [That’s] really different. Everyone listens to you and likes what you say when you pay them!”

“This was a different experience for me,” she added. “And I’m not good in groups. Like, I’m good one on one and I’ll tell you anything and I want to hear all about you. [In groups]I sit in the corner and then look away.”

This can lead to criticism from stars and fans alike, which Lyons certainly experienced this season, with many calling out her unwillingness to share her then-girlfriend on the show. The two have since divorced, but it’s unclear if her new partner, Cass Bird, will be open to participating.

Fueling speculation that Lyons would not return was the fact that she skipped a cast dinner with series executive producer Lisa Shannon over the weekend.

She was also absent from BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas earlier this month, the only one of her co-stars not to show up. On RHONY to the panel, Whitfield explained that Lyons was “at an event” and “apologies for not being able to be here.” But Lyons joked to Entertainment Tonight on the CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet, “I had some things to do; I said some really important things to do, like twiddling my thumbs.”

Bravo doesn’t usually release any casting decisions and had no official comment on Lyons’ potential return when reached by PEOPLE.

Even Cohen doesn’t seem to know if Lyons will return for another season. a caller to his SiriusXM asked him in October Andy Cohen Live, he said, “I hope so, I hope so. She, you know, I think her girlfriend is a little camera shy, so it’s a challenge. But I am. I really hope she does.”

He went on to praise Lyons on the show, agreeing with the caller that he would like to see more of her interactions with her 17-year-old son, Beckett Mazeau, who she shares with ex-husband Vincent Mazeau.
