ua a recent Instagram LiveThe 31-year-old rapper, who gave birth to a daughter earlier in September, announced that at the beginning of the year, she had removed several injections in her buttocks.
“In January, right after I did ‘Like What,’ I went in for surgery. They had some more injections in my butt. Because, you know, it takes rounds to get injections in your butt. They had some injections in my butt .. And I also went to fix, like, you know, some things [with] my fibrosis,” Cardi said.

The Grammy winner previously revealed during an Instagram Live in December 2022 that she had “95%” of her biopolymers removed from her bum that August. Biopolymers are the silicone recordings that Cardi previously said GQ got it for $800 in a basement in 2014.

In 2017, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a safety notice warning consumers that “injectable silicone used for body contouring is not FDA approved and may cause serious side effects that may be permanent or even fatal.”

“Side effects can include permanent pain and serious injury, such as scarring, tissue death, and permanent disfigurement; if silicone migrates beyond the injection site, it can cause embolism (clogging of a blood vessel), stroke, infection, and death. Serious complications can appear immediately or may develop weeks, months or years later,” the federal agency added.
Later on Instagram Live, Cardi also shared how she “automatically” knew she was pregnant again when she “woke up one morning and my mouth tasted like copper.”
