Carly Pearce dismisses rumors she’s feuding with Maren Morris.
The country music star, 33, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to respond and deny fan speculation that there was any kind of feud between her and Morris, 33, since he’s releasing a song with the singer’s ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
The Grammy winner cleared the air with a response to the co-founder of the chart data platform @USRadioUpdaterA quote from a tweet that referred to Pearce and Hurd’s upcoming duet for Tom Petty’s “Breakdown,” which is set to appear on a tribute album to the late rock star, and how it could allegedly be “shadow” to Morris.

Pearce began, “Okay. Seeing all this, I thought I would answer.”
“Ryan has [been] my friend for over 10 years,” she said of the singer-songwriter, 37, from whom Morris filed for divorce after five years of marriage last October. (The former couple, who share son Hayes Andrew, 4, this month, finalized their divorce in January.)
Pearce went on to clarify how her song with Hurd will be on the upcoming compilation Petty Country: A celebration of Tom Petty’s country music came together. “My label asked me to record this song with him for a Petty tribute and of course I said yes because he’s a great artist,” she said.
The “What He Didn’t Do” singer concluded her post by dismissing any further speculation about the feud. “STOP making something out of nothing!” added the musician.

The post the CMA winner responded to also speculated that she unfollowed Morris on Instagram last year after she released “The Tree,” a track from her 2023 EP. the bridge about his decision to leave the country music industry and start releasing music on Columbia instead of Columbia Nashville.
Pearce’s upcoming cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1976 classic Hurd will appear on an album featuring guest appearances from fellow country artists Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Dolly Parton and more. The project was announced at the end of February, and should be released on May 31.

The track is Hurd’s latest since releasing “Midwest Rock & Roll” last Friday, and will be his first collaboration since teaming up with Carter Faith in January for “Lights Out” for Apple Music’s Lost and Found program.

Pearce also has a lot of solo music coming up.
On Friday, the hitmaker announced her fourth studio album hummingbird is out on June 14 and has shared the title track.
The artist “we don’t fight anymore” announced the LP with a post on Instagram with the cover, and in the description she opened up about how much the project means to her.
“The past few years have been a season of loss and growth, healing and happiness,” Pearce wrote. “Belief that if I do the inner work, I’ll build myself back up stronger than I was before, and the knowledge that I’ve earned a living and I’ll always be unapologetic about it.”
She went on to say that the 14-song record encapsulates “my belief that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love for country music.”
“When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” Pearce wrote. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of everything we go through.”
