The layered tutu worn by Carrie in the show’s opening credits goes up for auction on January 11, as Julien’s Auctions plans to auction off pieces worn by stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Princess Diana, Whitney Houston and Kim Kardashian.

Fans of the show will remember the opening credits, which show Carrie strutting down a Manhattan street in style – only to wet herself on the bus. While the white tutu became an iconic symbol of Carrie’s funky style, the tutu almost didn’t make the cut.

In 2018 SATC said creator Darren Star Entertainment Weekly that Carrie almost wore a Marc Jacobs runway dress (originally worn by Kate Moss) in the opening credits. In the end, Star and Parker convinced the producers to stick with it.
