Tori Spelling talks regrets with 90210 co-star Jennie Garth as she looks back at ‘toxic’ time

Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, co-stars of the hit classic TV series Beverly Hills, 90210, recall the chaos behind the scenes in the first season of the series, specifically focusing on the untimed departure of Shannen Doherty.

On a recent episode of their podcast, 90210MG, Tori, 50, and Jennie, 51, reflected on what the show might have been if Shannen, 52, hadn’t left after season four.

The departure of Shannen, who played Brenda Walsh, in 1994 was marked by speculations of feuds and tension on set, creating a void that was later filled by Tiffani Thiessen’s Valerie Malone in next seasons.

Tori and Jennie consider whether different actions can solve the problems that ultimately led to Shannen’s departure. Tori wondered if things would have been different if the show had been “interrupted”.

“She was unhappy,” revealed Tori, adding that discontent on set was rampant, leading to an environment she described as “toxic.”
