Born October 23, 1936 in Center, NM, a farming area near Clovis, NM, Carroll was the beloved son of Clyde and Mabel Leavell. The family later moved to Jal in 1940, where Carroll spent his growing up years. On December 27, 1957, Carroll entered into a joyful union with Bobbie Brummett in El Paso, TX, embarking on a life journey filled with shared experiences and adventures.
Their love was blessed with the arrival of two beautiful daughters, Terri Poe and her husband Jerry, as well as Kim Fulfer and her husband Gregg. Together they formed a close loving family, nurturing relationships that brought them joy and happiness. Carroll Leavell’s legacy transcends his personal milestones, leaving a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we reflect on his life, we honor his memory and the love he shared with his family and friends.

At this time, Carroll Leavell’s family and friends have not officially revealed the cause of his death. Throughout his life, Carroll was actively involved in numerous organizations, exemplifying his commitment to community involvement. A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Jalo, NM, where mourners will gather to say their final goodbyes. Bob Haddox will lead the service, assisted by Monte Leavell, which will add to the somber atmosphere. Unfortunately, there will be no visitation, which heightens the sense of loss and lack of opportunity for a last look.
After the service, a solemn burial will take place at the Jal cemetery, which will mark the final farewell of the beloved soul. In this moving moment, pallbearers will bear the weight of grief as they carry Carroll Leavell to his eternal resting place. Justin McWilliams, Derryn McWilliams, Cody Abel, Emmy Lujan, Russell Tabor, Cameron Bradbury and Charles Haney will officiate. In addition, a group of honorary pallbearers was chosen to honor the memory of Carroll Leavell.
Hector Baeza, Stratten Abel, Stetsen Abel, Saxten Abel, Zadyn Lujan, Jacob Lujan, Deklyn McWilliams, Griffin McWilliams, Taylor Brown and Brooks Bradbury will stand as a symbol of the deep sorrow of those left behind.
