After completing his acting training, he began auditioning for various TV series and movies. In 1997, he guest-starred as Dr. Salim in the Hindi television series “Ghar Jamai”. He subsequently appeared in several Hindi television series such as “Saaya” (1998), “Rishtey” (1998), “Laagi Tujhse Lagan” (2009) and “Paltan Meri Shaan” (2015).

In 2002, he made his debut as an actor in the Hindi film Dil Vil Pyar Vyar. He came to limelight with his role as Devsare in the Hindi film “Maqbool” (2003). His role as Khan in the hit Hindi film Main Hoon Na (2004) was highly appreciated by the audience and critics.
He subsequently acted in several other Hindi films such as Masti (2004), Mangal Pandey: The Rise of Mangal (2005), Apaharan (2005) and Dhamaal (2007). In 2007, he made his debut in the Telugu film “Athidhi”, playing the role of Qaiser/Ajay Sastry. He has acted in several Telugu films such as “Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum” (2012), “Yevadu” (2014), “Dwaraka” (2017) and “Awe” (2018).
Some of his prominent roles in Hindi films are Golmaal Returns (2008), Dabangg (2010), Singham (2011), Badlapur (2015) and Major ( 2021). In 2012, he made his debut as Mukhiya in the Marathi film “Ajintha”.
His other Marathi films include “Vijay Aso” (2013), “Poshter Boyz” (2014), “Guru” (2016) and “Ghantaa” (2016). As of November 2021, he has acted in only one Malayalam film, “Karma Yodha”, in which the character’s name is Khais Khanna.

- During school and college, he participated in various stage plays. He used to watch movies of Indian actors Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in his dormitory.

Theater is the best medium to connect with your audience. I’m lucky enough to have an auto mode feature that kicks in as the character is explained to me and guides my performance. One thing I make sure to do is read the scene with all the actors at least three times before shooting to make sure we are all on the same page. “
