Gary — the brother of Kate’s mum Carole — was in talks with them but signed the contract today.

A source said: “Gary is trying to get into Celebrity Big Brother.

“He finalized the terms of his contract today and can’t wait to get into the house.”

Gary, 58, auditioned for I’m A Celebrity last year but was turned down in the final stage over fears it might embarrass Kate and William.

Insiders said Gary, who attended Kate’s wedding to Wills in 2011, is CBB’s most controversial signing.

The source added: “The CBB team love him because of his relationship with Kate and the fact that he’s confident and loud and won’t hold back.

“He has made it clear that he will talk about anything and everything, and he is quite open when it comes to Harry and Meghan.

“Gary also has a deep affection for Kate and Wills and will be able to provide a fascinating insight into what it’s really like to be related to the future king and queen.

“He could be TV gold and ITV knows it.

“The deal he signed is for good money.”

Gary is one of the first names to sign up for the next series, which starts in March.

Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Levi Roots and former X Factor judge Louis Walsh are also in advanced talks.

Gary’s colorful past is believed to have caught the eye of ITV following his audition for I’m A Celeb last year.

TV bosses backtracked on their decision to sign him up for the jungle after fearing it could embarrass Palace.

But Celebrity Big Brother is believed to be a more suitable place for him.

Gary slammed Harry and defended Kate over the prince’s controversial book Spare.

CBB’s most controversial stars

Celebrity Big Brother has had its fair share of controversial bookings over the years…

  1. Gary Busey (Hollywood actor known for his temper)
  2. Jim Davidson (whose controversial stand-up and political commentary led to calls for him to ‘quit’)
  3. Dustin Diamond (Saved by the Bell star who later posted his own sex tape)
  4. Courtney Stodden (model who married 51-year-old Green Mile star Doug Hutchison at just 16)

Kate was a bridesmaid at Gary’s first wedding in 1991.

The footage shows her and sister Pippa, aged nine and seven at the time, waving outside the church.

And in 1997, the teenage sisters were at his second wedding.

Gary earned £30m after building an IT recruitment business.

He first became embroiled in scandal in 2009 when he was caught cutting cocaine for a sex worker at a wild party in Ibiza.
