Sixty-one years after the death of French singer and entertainer Edith Piaf, Céline Dion is paying tribute to her legacy and marking her own return to music.
Dion sang the Edith Piaf classic “Hymne A L’Amour” with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The performance was her first time on stage since announcing her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022.
Now fans can enjoy the official live version of Piaf’s title track as Dion’s latest single. The 56-year-old singer previously released “Love Again” to coincide with the release of the 2023 film of the same name, her only other single since her diagnosis.

In a PEOPLE cover story, Dion opened up about how her diagnosis has affected her life and career. “My voice guided me, and now I can’t even talk to them,” she explained.
Her return to the stage was significant, as she also said in her interview that returning to the studio was “very, very, very challenging”, admitting that she was surprised that singing suddenly became “harder”.

Dion recently returned Kelly Clarkson’s tearful praise of her performance at the Paris Olympics with a loving cover of Clarkson’s Kellyoke song “My Heart Will Go On.” “You guys were absolutely amazing. Fantastic. I loved it,” Dion said in a video posted on social media.
