During his graduation, he joined ‘Sic Macay’, a theater company owned by Habib Tanveer in New Delhi. He has acted in dramas such as “Mudara Rakshasa”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Sakharam Binder Retold”, “Jis Lahore Nahin Vekhya” and “Charandas Chor”.
In 2006, he made his debut as an actor in the Bollywood film “Rang de Basanti”, in which he played a cameo role as Batukeshwar Dutt. He has appeared in several Bollywood films, including “Kaminey” (2009), “FALTU” (2011), “D-Day” (2013), “Prague” (2013), “Jazbaa” (2015) and “Jab” Harry” “Meet Sehgal” (2017).
In an interview, when asked how he got the offer to star in the Bollywood film Kaminey (2009), he said,
I auditioned for Delhi Belly but didn’t get the role. The casting director remembered me and invited me to audition for the role of Mikhail in Kamini while the script was being written. So when I auditioned in front of Vishal sir, I had no script and just improvised for about 20 minutes. After some time, I auditioned again at Mr. Vishal’s office and then left for San Francisco for my play. I didn’t think I would get the role because a lot of big names were being considered for the role. 22 days later the casting director called me and told me that everyone was contacting me like crazy because I had been chosen to play Mikhail. In fact, they even incorporated things into it that I improvised during my first audition in the movie. “
