Chandra Shekar Dutta aka Channdra Shekhar Dutta was born on Friday, July 31, 1981 in Rangunni village, Dhanbad, Jharkhand state, India (42 years old; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. He has been interested in acting since childhood and often imitated Bollywood actors. He passed the 10th standard of Sijua Tata DAV School in 1998 with 69.2% and passed the 12th standard of the same school in 2000 with 62.5%.
He started acting in theaters when he moved to his uncle’s house in Bundu, Jharkhand. From 2001 to 2003, he studied acting under Associate Professor Dinesh Khanna at the National School of Drama, Delhi (NSD). In 2004, he received his second class BA (Hindi) from Deoghar Vidyapith. He moved to Delhi in 2005 and pursued a Diploma in Theater Performance from Shri Ram Center for the Performing Arts (SRC), New Delhi. He received his PG Diploma in Acting from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. In 2008, he moved to Mumbai to pursue an acting career.

While studying acting at SRC, New Delhi and FTII Pune, he acted in around 20 plays with many renowned actors. In 2005, he also worked with the Song and Drama Department of the Government of India. He won the Best Actor Award for the drama Assi Behri Alang, written by Dr. Kashi Nath Singh and directed by Suman Kumar. He wrote and directed a play “Rehearsal Called Andher Nagari”, which won third place at the 9th Ruian International Theater Festival in 2008. He also acted at the International Screenwriting Lab organized by PAL in Matheran, Maharashtra in 2009. In 2018, she starred in the drama “Yakshini” directed by Samir Jagot.

In 2010, he played the role of Raja Rao in the film Rakta Charitra, directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starring Suriya, Vivek Oberoi, Radhika Apte, Priyamani and Abhimanyu Singh; he also appeared in Rakta Charitra 2. He played the role of Velji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela (2013), starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Richa Chadha.
He narrated the film Kaafiron Ki Namaaz (2013) directed by Ram Ramesh Sharma. He played the role of a salesman of death in the film Boichek (2017) directed by Santosh Sivan. He played the role of Betal in Satya Prakash Choudhary’s The Last Koan (2019) and in Nandlal Nayak’s She played the role of Somra in the movie Dhumkkudiya (2019). He plays Muslim Khan in the film Gul Makai (2020), based on the life of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai.
He plays Mohammad Bazru, the Bangladesh Army officer who killed Bangladesh’s founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the film Mujib: The Making of Nation (2022) Mohammad Bazlul Huda. He played the role of a missionary in the film “Kerala Story” directed by Sudipto Sen and starring Adah Sharma. He also acted as an actor in NABARD’s commercial films.
