Roana’s spirited performance comes as she embarks on The Midwest Princess Tour for her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess.

The singer recently canceled her European tour at the beginning of September. After two more canceled shows at the All Things Go festival, Roan revealed that overnight fame has become overwhelming and she needs time to prioritize her mental health.

Roan’s name last appeared on SNL in Bowen Yang’s September 28 sketch, which commented on the effect of fame on Roan’s mental health and caused controversy among fans. While some believed that Yang, dressed as viral baby pygmy Moo Deng, was supporting Roan, others saw the skit as a mockery.

“Leave her alone! Let her take as much time as she needs for her mental health. We both deserve patience and grace, so stop harassing her and stop throwing shells at her,” said Moo Deng of Yang.

Yang clarified the next day that the skit was in support of Roan. “If my personal position and part is not absolutely clear in terms of support, then I guess it is,” Yang wrote in an Instagram story. “Everything she ever asked for was reasonable, and even then we can tie it in with another boundary story or whatever.”
