Charley Hoffman Health Update: What Happened To Him? Weight Loss

Charley Hoffman’s health is undoubtedly better in 2024 than in 2023. Last year he had surgery on a sun damaged area on his arm that turned out to be skin cancer. Hoffman didn’t win the WM Phoenix Open on Sunday, but he showed he can still compete against some of the world’s greatest. After the loss, the American golfer learned that he had qualified for the Genesis Invitational.

Hoffman, 47, lost the championship to Canadian Nick Taylor, who won his fourth PGA Tour victory. Taylor won the Phoenix Open with three straight birdies on the 18th hole. Hoffman went 64-64 over the weekend to finish second, then jumped 9-32 on Sunday. Hoffman looked set to win his first championship in eight years, but the wait has now been extended.

Charley Hoffman’s Health Update 2024: Has He Lost Weight?

Charley Hoffman had skin cancer surgery in 2023, but his health seems to have improved dramatically since then. The golfer’s recent performance shows that he is back to his best. Last year, on May 18, 2023, Hoffman posted a picture on Instagram showing his surgically operated hand. Hoffman explained what came to mind in his Instagram post.

Hoffman had a routine check-up with his dermatologist two weeks before the photo was published. The dermatologist discovered badly burned skin. He wanted to wait until the end of the season before the doctors operated on him. However, in the end he decided against it and had the surgery because cancer was not something he wanted to fool around with. He informed his supporters that the operation was a success and that he would be back in action in a few weeks. In the caption, Hoffman said he wanted to share the photo because it’s Cancer Awareness Month. He also advised his followers to use sunscreen and get tested often. Charley went on to say that he did not make the post to elicit pity, but to raise awareness.

Despite the surgery, Charley’s weight doesn’t seem to have changed. He looks the same in the photos on Instagram, but maybe he has started to pay more attention to his health. Before the surgery, Charley competed in the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament, but did not advance. Charley returned to the US Open after surgery and finished T49.

He previously spoke on the Magnifying Excellence 2021 podcast to reflect on his career. Charley and his wife Stacey have raised more than $3 million for children’s organizations.

When asked what excellence means to him, the golfer said that the desire to excel in whatever job you choose and the willingness to focus on becoming the greatest is the true meaning of greatness to him. Hoffman’s definition has changed over the years. Before, he only aspired to be an outstanding golfer, but now he wants to find a balance between becoming a world-class golfer and a role model for his children.
