Chelsea Handler is ready to celebrate what 50 has to offer!
In a new interview with Parade posted on Friday, Jan. 3, the 49-year-old comic — who celebrates her next birthday on Feb. 25 — revealed that she’s “crazy right now” as she prepares to mark her next trip around the sun.
“It’s true that as you get older, you become more confident, and I had a lot of confidence in the beginning… But as far as being sexy, you’re breaking free as a woman,” Handler said. “There’s a sexual awakening that’s happening, where you don’t care about how you look or how you’re seen or the cellulite you have on the back of your legs.”
“You don’t care about any of that because you like to feel good and have great sexual experiences,” she added.

Handler, who is publishing her new collection of essays I’ll have what she has on her birthday, she also promises a “big production” for her next birthday shoot – after spending the past years skiing in bikinis and even topless.
“It will involve more than me; it’s going to involve a lot of people and hopefully a lot of pets,” Handler said Parade.
“Everyone keeps asking me [how I feel about turning 50]and I feel they want me to say something like [sounding slightly bummed]”I can’t believe I’m 50,” she added. “[But] this is great. My life is exactly what I hoped it would be – it’s more than I hoped it would be. I had no idea what the possibilities were or that I could live a life like this and feel so free.”
The handler also shares with Parade that she will pursue acting in 2025, as she called entering her next decade a “reset.”
“I say, ‘So much fun.’ I never really focused on that,” she said. “I think I’m going to take a chance this year, instead of doing all the things I know I’m good at. I feel like 50 is a reset what I’m not yet.”

Chelsea Handler Talks Sexting, Psychedelics and Launching ‘Spiked’ Lemonade in ‘Surprisingly Vulnerable’ (Exclusive)
Back in November, PEOPLE exclusively revealed that Handler will release her seventh book on her 50th birthday, with her essay memoir telling the “funny and tender stories of Chelsea Handler’s journey to becoming the woman she always wanted to be,” according to an official synopsis.
The book weaves together different stories from throughout Handler’s life, dating back to her early childhood, and manages to mix humor with “surprising vulnerability,” according to the synopsis.
“I wanted to fast forward all my youth and misery and become a more glamorous, successful, grown-up version of myself,” she previously wrote about the book. “The woman I would become would be passionate, fiery and brave. She would never be afraid to tell the truth, regardless of the consequences. She would make others feel brighter, better. She would earn her own living.”
I’ll have what she has is out on February 25th and is available for pre-order now.
