Cher Reveals She’s Working on Her Memoir Again After ‘Totally Chickening Out’

Cher is ready to turn back time!

At the place of hosting on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, the legendary musician revealed that she’s working on a memoir — and that the upcoming project hasn’t gone smoothly.

“I was totally scared,” the 77-year-old singer told Fallon. “I didn’t put some things on that needed to be put on. And they’re not comfortable, but they have to be put on so I have to go back and get ready.”

Although the title of the memoir is also in the works, the “Believe” singer said she realized that her everything had to do just that.

“I’ve lived too long and I’ve done too much and it’s like it should be an encyclopedia,” Cher shared, then joked with the audience about her reference material: “Not that you know what that is.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the “Stronger” singer said she also got to know her other latest project — her first Christmas album, Christmas — with reluctance.

“Because I couldn’t, this sounds so stupid, because I couldn’t find myself, I couldn’t see myself in the Christmas album,” Cher said.

The iconic artist was able to fully incorporate herself into the album after enlisting other legendary singers for the mix, including Stevie Wonder and Darlene Love.

She added: “So I called him and said ‘Hi, Stevie, it’s me’.”

In September, Cher first announced the album to her 2.6 million Instagram followers.

“Are you spending Christmas with me?” wrote the singer with the official album cover.

“It’s a Cher Christmas album. It’s not your mother’s Christmas album,” said the singer Good morning Britain in that time.

“I’m really, really excited because millions of people participate in it, and I’ve never had duets. I’ve never had people on any of my records,” Cher told the hosts, adding that the collaborations were a “last-minute thing.”
