Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker sings the praises of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in a new interview.
Butker, 28, spoke with EWTN News In Depth, where he recalled first meeting the “humble and gracious” superstar at a Chiefs party. “I got to meet her after our New Year’s game. We just won the AFC West,” Butker began, noting that he “rarely” goes out to parties.
“Travis showed up and Taylor was there and I met her and she was so humble and kind,” Butker explained.
Butker said he was “a little nervous” about meeting the 14-time Grammy winner. “I mean, it’s Taylor Swift,” he said. “So maybe I’m a Swiftie if I was nervous to meet her.”
The two-time Super Bowl winner added, “It was a great experience and I can’t say enough good things about her.”

Butker also recalled the first time he heard Swift was in Kelce’s suite for a Chiefs game in September. He said he thought it was “very cool” and “surreal” at first, “but then when you get to know her, you realize she’s just like everyone else and very down-to-earth,” he said.
“It was a great experience and I can’t say enough good things about her.”
As for Butker’s hopes for the superstar couple’s future, he said, “I hope they get married and start a family,” during the interview.

Butker didn’t identify Swift’s favorite song, but he did quote the lyrics to her song, “Familiarity breeds contempt,” from her song “Bejeweled,” and said, “I’d say that’s my favorite.”
Swift and Kelce have been relatively laid back for the past few weeks after a whirlwind few months in which the couple traveled all over the world. In February, Swift immediately left Tokyo after her sold-out shows on the Eras Tour to support the NFL star at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

After the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win, Kelce flew to Sydney, Australia and Singapore to attend Swift concerts with friends.
On Monday, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE, “They are spending time together in Los Angeles” and “are still very happy.”
According to the source, Kelce was “hanging out with friends and having a good time relaxing in LA,” during the NFL offseason.
