Karl Chads has launched a twisted campaign against Grace Smith despite the pair having only met three times.

The 42-year-old bombarded her with abusive messages and broke into her home in London.
He also told her boyfriend Daryl: “I’m a gangster, I’m going to rape her in front of you and I’m going to blow your head off.”
The chilling footage shows Chads appearing at Grace’s home in the dead of night and banging his fist on the front door.
The stalker, who had seven condoms stuffed into his pants, eventually broke through a bathroom window and stole her teenage diary.
The Grace Offer writer has now spoken out after Chads was jailed for 13 years for stalking for fear of violence.
The judge branded him “dangerous” as he was also convicted of burglary, damage and trespassing with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.
Grace, 31, said: “During Karl’s campaign of harassment I felt unsafe and feared for my life. Terrified he was going to kidnap me and rape me.
“Knowing that he is now behind bars gives me some comfort. Fortunately, he’s finally off the streets and can’t hurt anyone.”
The couple first met in October 2022 when Chads joined her work, but only occasionally spoke in Microsoft Teams meetings.
Grace found him “a bit of a freak” and even joked with a friend that he was “probably a serial killer” because of his strange behavior.
In May 2023, the collaborators attended a meeting in Birmingham, and later had a brief conversation on the train to London.
The pair met again two months later on a team building team, where Grace noticed Chads staring at her.
But they only came face-to-face again last October when their team were honored with afternoon tea at the Ritz.
Grace said: “While I was there, the topic of dating apps came up.
“I explained to my colleagues that this is how I met my boyfriend Daryl.
“I noticed that Karl’s face fell. He seemed disappointed.”

Grace later gave her co-worker her phone number, only for Chads to discover that he had feelings for her.
She said she told him she was flattered but was in a relationship, prompting a “barrage of insults” from Chads.
The scorned stalker called her “the guy under the stairs” and accused Grace of setting him up.
Chads then stepped up his campaign of abuse and even posted a private conversation between the two on a shared work platform.
Grace reported it to her manager, but Chads continued to bombard her with calls and texts – prompting the writer to call the police.
She said: “They told me they could charge him with malicious communications if he didn’t stop the contact. And that was it.”
During a trip to Prague to attend her cousin’s wedding, Chads posted a defamatory LinkedIn post attempting to sabotage her business.
Terrified, Grace’s boyfriend moved in and the couple reported all of Chads messages to the police, but nothing was done.
Obsessed Chads eventually quit his job but continued to harass Grace – even sending her home a package containing an Alexander McQueen handbag and a chilling message.

Aware that Chads now had her address, Grace and boyfriend Daryl practiced jiu jitsu moves to learn how to defend themselves.
They also installed a camera on the doorbell, which recorded the stalker walking around outside before breaking in.
Grace said: “I came home to smash pipes, smash windows. My clothes were torn and strewn all over the garden.”
Chads was arrested at the scene with two glasses and a bottle of wine in his backpack and condoms in his pocket.
In addition to the prison sentence, he was also given an indefinite restraining order prohibiting him from contacting Grace.
She said: “At sentencing, I confronted him, bravely read my impact statement and took back control.
“Now I want to encourage other stalking survivors to collect evidence, keep records. Listen to your instinct.
“In the end, I was forced to take responsibility and fight for justice. And I won.”
