Chipotle Renamed a Kansas City Location to Reference Travis Kelce’s Old Tweets

Travis Kelce’s spelling mistakes more than 10 years ago inspire a Chipotle restaurant makeover.

Last week, the NFL star’s resurfaced tweets, some dating back as far as 2009, went viral online. It’s no secret that years-old posts on the app have gotten public figures in trouble, but the only thing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s posts on Xu (formerly known as Twitter) show is his love for Chipotle — and his lack of autocorrect.

Kelce’s old posts include several mentions of Chipotle, but fans have mocked him for consistently misspelling the popular chain’s name. “I left class for therapy, now I need a #chipolte, and then I’m going to check my new apartment”, Kelce wrote on April 27, 2011.

On Monday, Chipotle renamed one of its Kansas City restaurants “Chipolte,” in honor of the tweets. The name change came before Monday’s game between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, where Kelce’s brother Jason plays.

The store’s renamed location is just minutes from Arrowhead Stadium, where the brothers met. It was the first time the pair had played each other since the 2023 Super Bowl and the first time the Eagles had beaten the Chiefs since 2009.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been spotted out and about in New York City.

Travis Kelce Shares His Favorite Taylor Swift Lyrics From The Song He ‘Wanted To Hear Live’

Last week, Travis took a break from the field to watch Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour performance in Buenos Aires. Travis and the Grammy winner, who have been dating since September, enjoyed some Argentinian food before sharing some sweet moments during her concert.

One of the show’s most memorable moments was when the singer referenced Travis in changing the lyrics to her song “Karma” at her concert. The soccer player’s reaction was caught on film, and in a video posted by a concertgoer, Travis stood next to the singer’s father Scott Kingsley Swift in the VIP tent as Swift sang her song “Karma.”

The pop star then switched up the song’s lyrics, singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs going straight home to me,” which made Travis smile widely. The “Blank Space” singer’s dad also reacted excitedly and clapped in support.
