Chloe Fineman recalls an alleged incident in which she says Elon Musk made her cry.
In a now-deleted TikTok video, Fineman, 36, a comedian on Saturday night liveaccused the SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO, 53, of making her cry when he hosted the long-running sketch comedy show in May 2021.
She began the Monday, Nov. 11, video by expressing that she wanted to speak out after seeing articles about Musk being “hurt by SNL and his impression.”

The entrepreneur recently addressed the show while responding to a post on X about Dan Carvey’s impressions of him after the 2024 presidential election.
“SNL has been dying a slow death for years as they become more and more out of touch with reality. Their latest attempt to fudge demands for equal airtime and endorse Kamala before the election only further sank her campaign. @nbcsnl,” Musk wrote.
For her part, Fineman said Monday, “I thought I wasn’t going to say anything, but I’m like, no, if you’re going to go on your platform [X] and being rude, guess what? You, Chloe Fineman, made me cry because I stayed up all night writing this sketch,” Fineman said.
“I was so excited, I walked in, asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and said, ‘It’s not funny.’ I was waiting for you to say, ‘Haha, JK.’ No. Then you started flipping through my script, like turning every page like, ‘I didn’t laugh once, not once,’ she continued.

While Fineman didn’t reveal which skit she was referring to, she said it made it onto the show and “was fine.”

“I actually had a really good time and I thought you were very funny about it, but, you know, have some manners here, sir,” she added.
On November 12, Musk responded to Fineman’s TikTok via a post on X. “Honestly, it was only the Thursday before Saturday that ANY sketch got a laugh. I was worried,” Musk wrote.
He said he was worried his appearance on the show would be “unfunny”, but said it “worked out in the end”.
Fineman’s message comes three months after his colleague SNL personality Bowen Yang discovered on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that the previous male host made “several crew members cry” because he “hated the ideas” he was given.
PEOPLE has reached out to Musk’s rep for comment.
