In 1997, at the age of 16, she began her modeling career and served as the cover girl of CeCi magazine. In 1997, she appeared on MBC’s children’s variety show “Ppo Ppo Ppo” as the youngest “Ppomi Sister”.
She has hosted shows such as Fairyland Ggumdongsan (2001), Girls on Top – Season 2 (2010), and O’live Beauty On-Air (2011). She made her showbiz debut in 1998 with an unknown role in Three Men and Three Women.

In 2005, she starred in the musical Grease, playing the lead role of Sandy. She wrote a book titled Healing Beauty, which was published in 2013. The book focuses on Zhao Wei’s advice on health and beauty, as well as her 16-year acting career.
In addition to acting, she is also an accomplished singer, singing “Aegyo” for the soundtrack of the TV series “Need Romance” (2011) with actor-singer Kim Jong-hoon. - In 2013, she began to approach Spring Entertainment when her contract with agency Didim 531 expired. As a result, the Korean Entertainment Management Association prevented her from signing with Spring Entertainment and banned Spring Entertainment from working in the association for two years. After her contract with Didim 531 expired, she signed with Neos Entertainment.
- In 2018, she was involved in a controversy related to allegations of fraud by her father. Her father borrowed 300 million won (Rs. 177 million) from Mr. A, who reportedly suffered financial losses as a result. Mr. A contacted Yeo-jeong’s agency High Entertainment in hopes of reaching Yeo-jeong. After the incident came to light, High Entertainment released an official statement apologizing to Mr. A for his father’s irresponsible behavior and promised to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Later, Yeo-jeong met with Mr. A, apologized to his family, and promised to return the money to them.
