• Even in the high-scoring 1980s, his 64 points in 74 games were outstanding for a defenseman, and he lost out to Mario Lemieux for the Calder Memorial Trophy. Playing behind Conn Smythe Trophy-winning goaltender Patrick Roy, he won his first Stanley Cup in 1985–86. despite appearing in just 41 games.
