Chris Evans Reveals How His Christmas Plans Have Changed as a Newlywed: 'We're Excited' (Exclusive)

Chris Evans’ Christmas plans are starting to look a little different from last year’s wedding.

the actor, 43, tells PEOPLE while promoting his new action film Red in Berlin that vacation plans with husband Alba Baptista are changing as they split their time between Massachusetts and her native Portugal.

“Well, we’ve only had one Christmas so far,” says Evans. “This will be our second Christmas together as a married couple, so we’ll have to play pinball.”

“As much as I love Christmas in Massachusetts with snow, it has its own tradition in Portugal. We’re going to start playing pinball back and forth,” he explains, adding that he’s “excited to see what they’re up to.”

But Evans says he and Alba, 27, will spend this Christmas in his home state of Massachusetts.

“We have a very busy schedule. She will start something in January. “I’m currently doing something in Greece,” he says. “With the amount of travel we have, we’re going to do one more here in Massachusetts and then we’ll start all over again [in Portugal].”

The Red the star says that he and his wife plan to go to Portugal for the holidays next year. “We just got a spot out there, so we’re excited to lay down some fresh new trails in the snow,” says Evans.

And one day, the star adds, she looks forward to sharing some of her favorite childhood holiday traditions with their future children.

“I hope my kids enjoy each other’s company as much as I do with my siblings,” says Evans. “We wanted to spend every second of Christmas Eve together until you fell asleep.”

Massachusetts remains a special place for the couple, as Evans and Alba also tied the knot there in September 2023. They made their first appearance as newlyweds a month later at a holiday party in New York, hosted by Evans’ Marvel co-stars Scarlett Johansson and her husband Colin Jost.

A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the Marvel student and the Portuguese actress were dating in November 2022. In March of this year, the couple made their 2024 red carpet debut. Vanity Fair Oscar after party.
