Chris Evans Reveals the Reason Behind His Scruffy New Beard — Watch the Video!

Chris Evans wears a new look! Captain America star attended Red premiered on Monday, November 11, where he showed off the messy beard he’s been rocking lately. The movie about “saving Christmas” stars Evans, 43, with Dwayne Johnson, Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Liu, who were also in attendance.

Evans’ newly grown beard is a change from his usual beard and resembles his own Avengers: Infinity War days. He kept his look simple for the premiere with a black top, gold pendant necklace and glasses.

In an interview at the premiere with Party tonightthe former sexiest man alive, explained that the change in style was conditioned by the new role.

“The job I’m working on,” Evans said when asked about his beard. “It is a film called Victimwith Anya Taylor-[Joy]John Malkovich.”

The film is about a “star-studded charity event [that] becomes chaotic when a radical group takes it down, searching for a mystical artifact linked to an ancient prophecy,” reads the official synopsis. Victim will also feature Salma Hayek, Charlie xcx and Yung Lean, and while no release date has been set yet, filming is underway in Europe, according to Deadline.

Evans already made headlines for his facial hair in February 2019, when he Entertainment Tonight Canada he posted a photo of his mustache on Twitter.

“This is clearly an act of aggression,” Evans responded in a tweet, trolling the outlet. “There are literally hundreds of photos to choose from. What have I ever done to you, Canada?”

Netflix Canada later tried to correct the mistake by sharing a series of “hot photos of Chris Evans” — “on behalf of all Canadians.”
