Career
Chris started working at Radio Northwick Park, the hospital radio station, aged 16 and has since worked at stations such as Galaxy, Reel Radio, Virgin Radio and BBC 6 Music. Chris finally joined Scott Mills’ show on April 2, 2012, where he was featured as Scott’s friend. He appeared in most of the contemporary segments of the series, such as Real or No Real, Innuuedo Bingo, 24 Years at the Tap End, and Appreciating the Trolls. Chris was best known for his appearance in an episode of 24 Years at the Tap End, in which he recounts passages from his “autobiography”.
He was motivated to write his own memoir after reading Brendan Sheerin’s story in Coach Excursion. The title alludes to his on-air revelation, at the age of 24, that he had been reclining on the “wrong” end of the bathtub his entire existence. The first episode aired on 11 November 2011, with Chris revealing that his parents had originally intended to call him “Padraig”. Throughout the series, Stark recalls significant events from his “end years”, which often include mistakes made and life lessons learned through experiences with his friends.
It aired on 10 February 2014. From 2014 to 2016, Stark was also a team leader on E4’s Practically Famous. Stark was also featured in 2015 as a guest on CBBC’s talk show The Puppy Ate My Coursework. In December 2016, he appeared on Celebrity Mastermind and in the star version of Robot Wars. Saturday Mash-Up, CBBC’s Saturday morning programme, featured Stark as a performer. Stark joined Peter Crouch and Tom Fordyce as co-hosts of That Peter Crouch Show in 2018.
