I’m always cold, so I’m usually tucked under a blanket. While I’ve owned my fair share of cheap pitchers, there’s a brand I’ve had my eye on for years but just couldn’t bring myself to buy because of the price.

So when I opened the Barefoot Dreams blanket for Christmas from my sister, I let out an audible gasp. She let me in on the secret of snagging it on sale at Nordstrom Rack, and now I’m determined to make sure you experience the ultimate in comfort, too. Soft blankets usually cost more than $180, but right now you can get them for as little as $40.

In the past few years, I’ve discovered that they have quite a few celebrity fans, including Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner, and Chrissy Teigen, who once said she uses hers 365 days a year. And I know about Cravings the cookbook author still uses hers since she was spotted relaxing with one in the back of her car in early January.

Although I’ve only had my Barefoot Dreams blanket for a little over a month, I can honestly say that it’s one of the best things I’ve ever wrapped myself in — it feels like I’m cocooned in a plush cloud that I never want to leave.

I own one of the CozyChic covers, which are made from the brand’s signature soft polyester microfiber fabric that is incredibly warm without being too heavy. I tried it one night when I was particularly cold and tried using a regular blanket under which I was still cold. But when I switched to my Barefoot Dreams throw, I was warm within minutes.

It might sound a bit ridiculous that one blanket can make such a difference, but it really does. My husband and my dog ​​fights me to use it. And don’t just take it from me — my colleague, Commerce Content Strategist Hannah Freedman and her pup are also “obsessed” with her Barefoot Dreams blanket.

I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes curling up with my Barefoot Dreams blanket puts me to sleep. And as someone who usually wakes up at least once during the night, I noticed that I didn’t do it as often when I used the blanket. Although I think it’s almost a little too warm to sleep in every night.

The blankets are machine washable, but the brand recommends “washing on a delicate cycle in cold water with a mild detergent” and using a low tumble dryer for best results. I haven’t cleaned mine yet, but I definitely plan to treat it with care because, like Teigen, I don’t want to go a day without it.
