Christian Richard was born in 1979 in the town of Middletown, New Jersey as “Christian Dumontet” (41 years old in 2020). Christian attended the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. In an interview, Christine Quinn revealed that Christian attended MIT in Boston, specializing in all types of engineering, including software platforms. In fact, he graduated from the College of New Jersey with a major in Computer Science.

He started his career as a software engineer, working in various companies and development projects. In 2001, he joined Cisco Systems, where he worked as a software engineer for nearly six and a half years. In March 2007, he co-founded Foodler, a Boston-based online food ordering service, with Edin Arslanagic and John Jannotti.
