In 2020, Wickraman was appointed as the national spokesperson of the Liberation Tigers Party. On February 26, 2021, Wickkraman was appointed as the spokesperson of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Kachi (VCK) party in Tamil Nadu, which was founded by Thol Thirumalavalan. Sumanth C. Raman accused of caste discrimination
Wickraman had in November 2020 accused Tamil TV anchor and sports commentator Sumanth C. Raman of abusing and discriminating against people on the basis of caste. Wickraman claimed that when he went to his home for an interview, he was denied a drink, even after repeated requests. He posted on Twitter,

Accused of sexual harassment
According to reports, in April 2021, Wickkraman was accused of sexually harassing a man while auditioning for a film. The victim alleged that Wickraman, a gay man, called his house for an audition but molested him. The victim shared his experience via a meme page on Instagram, saying:
