Christine Brown is celebrating her independence after marrying David Woolley in October.

On Wednesday, Sister wives star, 51, revealed she worries about losing her independence in a monogamous relationship after being polygamous with Kody Brown alongside wives Janelle, Meri and Robyn. She and Kody split in 2021 after 25 years together.

“I was always worried about losing my independence in monogamy,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a smiling selfie. “I realized the other day, since I’m married to the right person (David for me!) that I’m more independent than I’ve ever been! #strongwoman #independent #strongerever #blessed”

In the comments section, Woolley praised Christine for her support, writing: “I had surgery last Friday. They never cared for me like Christine did for me. I have the best wife and soulmate anyone could have, she is my angel, I love you so much Christine Woolley!!❤️”

After ending her marriage to Kody, Christine reflected on the lessons she learned from the experience in an interview with PEOPLE.

“I thought we were open. I thought we knew everything and I thought we understood how big this world is,” she told PEOPLE of herself and wife Janelle. “But when I left, I was really like, ‘Oh my God, the whole world is here, I feel like I can take a deep breath. And there are possibilities and there are amazing things on the other side of polygamy.’”

Christine went on to find love with her now 59-year-old husband, and the couple tied the knot on Oct. 7 in front of 330 guests during an outdoor ceremony in Moab, Utah.

Christine told PEOPLE that Woolley “has more integrity than anyone I know. He built his business while he was a single father, so that’s everything to him.”

“His word is his bond and it means everything to him… If he says he’s going to do it, he’s going to do it,” she continued.
