Tracee Ellis Ross is leaving Black-ish in grand fashion! On Tuesday night, Bette Midler wore a long-sleeved dress with blue and yellow feathers on the long sleeves, along with purple pumps. The combination was completed by yellow heels and an elegant bun with two strands that frame the face. “To all the men I’ve loved before,” she wrote on Instagram, showing off the design of the backless dress. After eight seasons, Kim Foxx said she felt “a lot of joy and pride” while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel with her co-stars Anthony Anderson, Miles Brown and Marcus Scrimgeour. Eight seasons of Black-ish are coming to an end. “It’s amazing that there were 176 episodes,” she told the 54-year-old host.
Ross answered yes when asked if they shed tears while watching the finale of the hit ABC comedy that aired Tuesday night. “Tears were shed while we were filming the last episode. She joked, “I shed so many tears that Anthony said, ‘Are you seriously crying again?'” The conclusion marked the end of an era for the Johnson family, who have lived in Sherman Oaks, California for the past seventeen years. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Ross, who played Dr. Rainbow “Bow” Johnson in the comedy, revealed that she gave herself some grace on the last day of filming.
“I leave this show with so much joy and pride and I truly believe that what we have created has changed my life by changing the landscape of contemporary prime-time television,” the star said. “I believe that we have paved the way for television to reflect more of who we are as people. Therefore, it was a great honor and a life-changing experience for me to work on another program that I am incredibly proud of.”
“I think there’s something really special about knowing something is coming to an end and being able to enjoy everything you love about it,” she said of the acclaimed sitcom. “I was able to talk to each one individually and hear from a large number of people what they felt and why this show was personally meaningful to them.”
As the final season of Black-ish approaches, its television universe will endure. Grown-ish, which follows Zoey (Shahidi) through her college years, was recently ordered for a fifth season.
