Chyler Leigh Reveals She Predicted Her Husband Was the Man She’d Marry on the Day They Met

Chyler Leigh knew husband Nathan West was the one from the moment she first saw him.

The way home the actress, 41, revealed on Friday’s episode Living with Kelly and Mark that she knew she would one day marry West when she met him at an audition for a WB pilot nearly 24 years ago.

“I came around the corner, and he was just resting on the ground,” she said. “I thought, ‘That’s the guy I’m going to marry.’ ”

Host Kelly Ripa, 53, chimed in: “When you know, you know.”

Leigh noted that she and West were “paired together” for the chemistry read – culminating in a kissing scene.

“And we get right to the end of the scene and he says, ‘Do you want me to kiss her? Do I really need to kiss her?’ I’m sitting here going, ‘Oh my God, this is embarrassing.’ and [show executives are] like you’re just doing whatever comes naturally. And we’re like, ‘Okay.’ ”

The actress said they went through multiple rounds of auditions together because their chemistry was “pretty good. When they reached the final round of auditions in front of more than two dozen network executives, West decided it was time to kiss.

“We still haven’t kissed,” Leigh said, to which Ripa dramatically replied, “Oh my god, now the anticipation…”

“He was living in California at the time. I was living in Miami, so it was really like, ‘I might not see you again.’ So that incentive was there,” she continued.

The Grey’s Anatomy alum he said they ended up getting the kiss part in the script and no one in the room was “stopping” us, so he decided to “go for it.”

“And he kissed me, and I was so excited that I was going to try to use the door as, ‘Oh creative actor moment.’ I hit myself in the face with the door,” she recalled with a laugh.

“I completely succeeded. “I just happened to walk out and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m never going to work in this town again,'” she joked.

“And did you get the job?” asked Mark Consuelos, 52. “We have the parts,” she confirmed. “And you got a man,” Consuelos teased.

Leigh and West married in July 2002. They have three children: daughters Taelyn Leigh and Anniston Kae, as well as son Noah Wilde. The couple are due to celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary later this year.
