Clean-Up Crew Worker Adopts Puppy He Found Abandoned in Trash: ‘Fell Instantly in Love’

Missouri the puppy that was found abandoned in a pile of garbage now has a new home.

On Wednesday, the state Department of Conservation announced on Facebook that a group scouting local cleanup sites in the St. Louis area the day before. Louisa came across an abandoned puppy “thrown on a pile of garbage”.

The post added that the group looking for cleanup sites consisted of people from the Missouri Stream Teams, Beyond Housing and citizens from the Tiered community.

Photos posted on social media show the small white dog tucked between garbage bags and surrounded by bottles and candy wrappers.

Fortunately, the dog’s story did not end there.

“Luckily Stream Team Coordinator Brian Waldrop adopted this little guy and he’s going to his first vet check today,” the Missouri Department of Conservation posted on Facebook.

The agency also shared photos of a worker pulling a puppy out of a pile of trash and a cleaned-up dog with a pink leash around its neck.

“Thank you for rescuing this little one! I’m so thankful your team was in the right place at the right time,” one local wrote, while another added: “People are cruel… this breaks my heart… thank you you Brian for being a blessing to us this sweet child.”

KTVI FOX 2 reports that the puppy was 12 weeks old when it was found in the trash. Its new owner opened the newspaper about the “unexpected” story.

“It’s a story with a happy ending, or at least a happy beginning,” Waldrop said. “He was found in a black garbage bag in a pile of trash. His name could have been Hefty. Waldrop said the pooch was “quite yellow” when rescuers discovered him, adding that the pet “magically turned white” after his first bath.

“We were up there in North County looking for trash for an upcoming cleanup, and here’s what we thought was a carcass, and it moved! I immediately got down on my hands and knees, picked it up, and instantly fell in love with the little bugger,” Waldrop said. .
