Comedian Hamish Blake Undergoes Emergency Surgery for Skin Cancer

Australian comedian Hamish Blake has revealed that he has just undergone emergency surgery.

The 42-year-old shared that he had surgery to remove skin cancer from his forehead, Blake shared via his Instagram stories on Tuesday, News.com.au reported.

In one of Blake’s photos, he shared a close-up of his new scar and the five stitches he received after the surgery. “I’m doing the second side in a few weeks,” he wrote in Story, according to News.com.au.

He also shared another photo showing a closer photo of the scar. In the caption, Blake clarified that the other side of his forehead “actually won’t” be operated on.

“This is my reminder to anyone who needs it (i.e. everyone) to get a skin exam every six months,” he continued.

The Lego Masters Australia the host then confirmed that “everything is complete [is] good,” adding: “But I’m glad they caught her very early.”

Ahead of the emergency surgery, the avid cyclist shared on Instagram that he completed a multisport race in New Zealand’s South Island in mid-February.

He shared that he biked, ran and rowed “over 2 days to get from one side of the country to the other.”

The father-of-two admitted he decided to go ahead with it because it “sounded like exactly the kind of thing [he] he could not do what sometimes [he] thinks that’s a great reason why you should give it a try.”

“He beat us quite a bit, but my God, he was beautiful while doing it, and he gave us memories to last a lifetime,” Blake wrote. “And a big thank you to my knees which are still crap on me and have requested a transfer to another body, but I know we’ll laugh about it one day. 🙂🤙”, he jokingly concluded.
