What to do if you think you are an alcoholic
If you are struggling with alcohol addiction, the most important thing is to recognize the problem and seek support – you do not have to face yourself.
Look for professional help
- GP or doctor – a medical expert can evaluate your situation and provide tips on treatment options.
- Therapists or advisers – interviewing an expert in addiction can help resolve the basic causes and develop the confrontation strategy.
- Rehabilitation or detox programs – if physical addiction is strong, a medically controlled detox may be required.
