In last night’s episode, it was revealed that his wife Carla had bought him a one-way ticket to Spain so that Peter could join his friend on a round-the-world sailing trip.
But that would mean the end of their relationship – at least for now.
Peter was devastated at first, but after a long chat he realized that being away from Weatherfield was worth it, even at the cost of not being with his wife anymore.
He said an emotional goodbye to Carla and his family – but not to his son Simon – and left by tram.
