Persia:
Persia is the official name, but it was changed to Iran in 1935. It is called the Persian language. After that, people started calling the country Iran. this Iran is one of the world’s oldest civilizations, beginning with the Elamites in the fourth millennium BC.
Democratic Kampuchea:
The name of the country Democratic Kampuchea was changed to Cambodia. The name Cambodia has changed many times due to changes made by different leaders and policies. It was initially called Cambodia, then changed to the Republic of Mer. From 1975 to 1979, when the country was under communist rule, it was called Democratic Kampuchea, and then after the United Nations called it the State of Cambodia.
Netherlands:
In 2020, the Netherlands became the Netherlands. Previously, countries that had 2 regions north and south became the Netherlands. This change also appeared to be a move to promote tourism.
Siam:
The state of Siam was changed to Thailand in 1939, after which it became a constitutional monarchy. Siam was never colonized and was ruled by the King of Siam and was also known by name.

The country of Swaziland has been changed to Eswatini in the local language. In 2018, the king of Swaziland in Africa changed that. Eswatini is a landlocked country in southern Africa. This country is classified as a lower middle income economy.
Ceylon:
Ceylon was changed to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was separated by its colonial legacy. After gaining independence, the island’s government changed its name to Srilanka.
Irish Free State:
The name of the country Irish Free State was changed to Ireland in 1937. The name Irish Free State is also known by the Irish name Saorstat Elireann.
Czech Republic:
At the time when the Soviet Socialist Republic began to disintegrate, Czechoslovakia began to split into 2 separate countries. One of the countries between those two is the Czech Republic. The name Czechia was changed to the Czech Republic. It is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It borders Austria in the south.
Rhodesia:
The colonial name of the country Rhodesia was changed to Zimbabwe. This changed when it gained independence from the Republic of Zimbabwe. From 1965 to 1979, Rhodesia was an unrecognized country in southern Africa.
