Courteney Cox Pokes Fun at Scream Bangs, Monica’s Friends Frizz and Other Past ‘Embarrassing’ Hairstyles

Courteney Cox isn’t afraid to laugh at herself… or her hair!

On Tuesday, the actress, 59, shared a hilarious video on Instagram that showed her confronting individuals wearing gray sweatpants that each featured a photo of one of her classic hairstyles.

The video begins with Cox outside petting a dog as someone asks her, “What’s going on?” After she answers, “Construction,” she’s drawn to a T-shirt with a photo of the baby bangs she wore while playing Gale Weathers in scream 3.

“What is that? Don’t wear that shirt,” Cox says. “Bangs? Come on. That’s funny. That’s embarrassing.”

After going inside to inquire about the construction progress, creepy music plays in the background as Cox looks at each shirt. The first one she sees shows a photo from her time Misfits of Science, which followed “the adventures of a team of misfit superheroes who fight crime for a scientific think tank.” In the 1985 series, Cox played Gloria Dinallo, who wore a bob that rested over her shoulders.

Before I saw another shirt with it on it scream 3 hairstyles, she sees a sweatshirt with a photo of her curly hair in the finale friends’ ninth season.

Friends aired for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004, and Cox played Monica Geller. She starred alongside Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

This isn’t the first time Cox has addressed some of her iconic hairstyles. During the performance at The Drew Barrymore Show andIn January 2022, Cox told her scream 3 the bangs were “the worst”.

“I forgot about it. It was nothing worse. It was a big lesson in life because it will be on film forever,” she said, performing with Scream actors Neve Campbell and David Arquette. Cox noted that she always tried to create a different signature for her character in each film.

“Each Scream I would try to come up with a different look for her that would be a little bit more than gross or ugly or too much,” she said. Recently, Melissa Barrera paid tribute to hair as PEOPLE’s first digital cover girl in March .

Barrera shared a photo from the shoot on her Instagram story and wrote that she was “paying tribute to @courteneycoxofficial scream 3 bangs 😍 because I think they are 🔥.”
