Coy Gibbs Wiki:- Coy Randall Gibbs was a 49-year-old American NASCAR driver and assistant coach with the WASHINGTON REDSKINS and co-owner of Joe Gibbs racing.
His father, Joe Gibbs, was a five-time NASCAR Cup winner and owner of the Farmers Pro Football Hall of Fame.
GIBBS was a 4-year linebacker at STANFORD UNIVERSITY and led the team in tackles his senior season. Gibbs joined the team as an offensive line quality control assistant after his father was rehired as the Redskins’ coach in 2004.

Coy Randall Gibbs made the step up to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES in 2002. He shared driving duties with his brother JD in the 2001 Chevrolet.
GIBBS began racing as a full-time pro and had two top-five finishes to his name and 10th in points in 2001 and 2002. GIBBS replaced Mike Mclaughlin in the Busch Series and also had two top-ten finishes in his named runner-up to Rookie of the Year David Stremme.
In 2002, one of Gibbs’ standout moments came in NASCAR when he was at Martinsville Speedway with K Trevino Harvick in a Spring Truck Series race.
Gibbs had 18 trucks and drove for his father’s team, Harvick drove 6 trucks that he owned and later Gibbs contacted Harvick.
Harvick later retaliated after intentionally wrecking Gibbs on the restart, which declared the 6 parked for the remainder of the race. After all of this, Harvick denied that his actions were intentional.
At the age of 49, Gibbs passed away in his sleep the night his son TY won the 2022 NASCAR XFINITY SERIES Championship on November 6, 2022.
There is no information on the cause of death. Gibbs’ death was announced shortly before the 2022 NASCAR CUP SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP RACE, a moment of silence was also observed in his honor.
