Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Starts U.K. Trip in the Most Appropriate Way— with a Pint in a Pub!

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden raise a glass to visit Great Britain!

The royal couple began their three-day visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday, and one of their first stops was a quintessentially British experience: a pint at a local pub.

Princess Victoria (46) and Prince Daniel (50) stood behind the bar in The Three Blackbirds pub in Newmarket. The Queen-to-be of Sweden poured a draft beer – Barsham Brewery’s Norfolk Topper – before raising her pint and taking a sip.

The couple also met a pub owner, discussed English pub culture and heard a presentation on East Anglia during their visit.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning a double date with the Swedish royal family — see Cher!

Their first day also took Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to the STANTA training camp in eastern England, where Swedish military personnel are training Ukrainian soldiers as part of the UK-led Operation Interflex.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are scheduled for a royal double date during their visit to Great Britain. On Thursday night, she will attend the annual Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall alongside Kate Middleton and Prince William, which will feature performances by Cher and Swedish pop star Zara Larsson.

Prince William and Crown Princess Victoria have much in common as heirs to the throne, and their meeting during the trip will be a royal reunion. The Swedish royals were invited to William and Kate’s wedding in 2011, and the British couple visited in January 2018. Most recently, Princess Victoria accompanied her father, Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf, to the coronation of King Charles in May.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, have been regular guests of honor at the Royal Variety Show, last attending in November 2021, when comedian Alan Carr told Prince William not to “go at his wife” after she complimented Kate from the stage.

The tradition of royals attending the theatrical event began with William’s great-great-grandfather King George V in 1921.
