Daddy Yankee Claims Estranged Wife Withdrew $80 Million as He Files Injunction amid Split: Report

Daddy Yankee has reportedly filed a lawsuit against his estranged wife Mireddys González, claiming she withdrew $80 million “without authorization” from his El Cartel Records bank account, according to court documents obtained Billboard.

The Puerto Rican rapper (Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez) filed the injunction on Thursday, December 12 in San Juan against González, 47, her sister Ayeiche González Castellanos and El Cartel Records, which Yankee founded and where González is said to be CEO and González Castellanos secretary/treasurer.

According to the filing, although Daddy Yankee, 47, “owns the company’s stock” and “is the raison d’etre” of Cartel Records Inc. “he has no access, interference and information, to everything he created and continues to create and to which he has the right.”

As a result, the musician “Dura” demands “the immediate removal of the plaintiff from any function or interference in corporations as an officer or administrator thereof and the delivery of information and documentation that they illegitimately withheld.”

Daddy Yankee claims that González and González Castellanos attempted to have “more power over the operation of the cartel than was allowed, resulting in a detrimental and negligent operation for the company.”

The Latin Grammy winner also claims that they “failed to provide an accurate account of their actions” and “disregarded the formalities and requirements of corporate legislation.”

The filing also alleges that González hired a third party to represent El Cartel in the sale of a portion of the plaintiff’s music catalog, which Concord purchased. Daddy Yankee claims that the agreed amount “proved to be unreasonable, disproportionate and far below the actual value”.

Allegedly, Daddy Yankee “does not know the true extent of the transaction, nor does he have detailed knowledge of what was or was not sold, nor the restrictions he may have on the use of his musical creations.”

Representatives for González have not yet responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
