Lunden Stallings has apologized after a series of racist tweets resurfaced shortly after she married Olivia Bennett.
Stallings, 26, addressed the situation in a video posted to social media on Tuesday, just days after the TikTok couple — known for their “outfits of the day,” “day in the life” and wedding planning videos — tied the knot in Georgia.
Shortly after the wedding, several posts were shared on Reddit containing screenshots of tweets posted on Lunden’s account in the early 2010s that included racial slurs.
Responding to the backlash, Stallings said she was “completely and utterly appalled and embarrassed.”
“I don’t want people to think I’m just brushing this under the rug or that it’s something I won’t deal with or don’t want to deal with because I want to deal with it,” she said in a TikTok story posted on the couple’s account. “That’s not me.”

Stallings said she was embarrassed “how normal it is for me to say that,” both on social media and in person.
The TikToker went on to say that she has “grown a lot” as a person over the past few years and would “never think of saying things like that again”.

“It’s really just, like, a really unfortunate, disgusting and ignorant mistake that you made as a teenager,” Bennett added.
“You were a child and you were ignorant and it was wrong and it was shameful and it’s so embarrassing,” Bennett continued. “And I think that’s why you wanted to get rid of them, because it’s not a reflection of your character and how I know you and how so many people know you.”

Stallings said both she and Bennett had a “private conversation” about it, in which she apologized and took full responsibility.
She added that she is open to dialogue with others and encouraged those who want to talk to her about it to get in touch via her direct messages.
“I just want everyone to know, even the ones who don’t, that I’m sorry,” she told fans.
As of Wednesday, there has been no video addressing the situation on the couple’s TikTok account, prompting further backlash, according to New York Post.
A representative for Stallings had no comment when contacted by PEOPLE.
