He was half of the legendary comedy duo Van Kooten & De Bie, formed with Kees van Kooten. He pursued a solo career on VPRO television and starred in a couple of programs with Annet Malherbe after collaborating with Van Kooten for 34 years. De Bie had a feel for new technology, which he displayed in his solo career.

Willem Philippe “Wim” de Bie was a Dutch comedian, writer, and singer. He was known for his work in the comedy duo “Van Kooten en De Bie” with Kees van Kooten. He started performing with Van Kooten in 1963 and gained prominence in the 1960s by working for television, starting as a radio comedian.
