Dairy Queen's S'Mores Blizzard Is Coming Back After 'Praying' Fans Voted For Its Return

It’s official! Dairy Queen’s S’mores Blizzard is back by popular demand.

Earlier this month, Dairy Queen fans were given the chance to vote for which treat would be making a comeback. On Friday, December 20, the ice cream chain announced that the marshmallow dessert was the best.

Customers could vote on the return of one of three Blizzard flavors that were placed in the “DQ Freezer,” the brand’s metaphorical place for retired flavors: S’mores, Georgia Mud Fudge, or Cappuccino Heath.

The winning Blizzard combines chocolate bars filled with marshmallows and graham crackers with vanilla soft serve. It was first available in 2013 and has been changing the on and off menus for the last decade. The campfire-inspired Blizzard will return in April 2025 — and DQ enthusiasts are buzzing with joy.

“The people have spoken! Glory!” one fan commented on Dairy Queen’s announcement of a flavor coming back in 2025. Another enthusiastic commenter wrote: We prayed for this.”

In November, Dairy Queen also announced the return of two holiday favorites: Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard and Frozen Hot Chocolate. Both festive treats were added to the menu on November 25.

Dairy Queen isn’t the only fast food chain bringing back nostalgic classics.

Earlier this month, Burger King announced the return of its flame-grilled BK Melts and BK Churro Fries. But those items were only available for a limited time, leaving the fast-food chain’s menu on December 19.

McDonalds also teased the return of a fan-favorite menu item: the Snack Wrap.

During the interview with Good morning America on Thursday, December 5, McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger confirmed that the once discontinued menu favorite will return in 2025.

The original Snack Wrap — which consisted of chicken, lettuce and shredded cheese in a tortilla, topped with ranch or honey mustard — was previously discontinued in 2016. The product first appeared on McDonald’s menus nationwide in 2006.
