Sarah Michelle Gellar Called Out of Work to See Taylor Swift's Eras Tour for a Very Relatable Reason

Sarah Michelle Gellar could be considered a member of Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets Ward.”

During an appearance on Friday, December 20 at The Drew Barrymore Show promotion Dexter: Original Sin with Christian Slater, Scooby-Doo the actress revealed that she called in from work to check out the Eras Tour.

Gellar, 47, mentioned that she was “just in Miami” for one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in October, describing the performance as “amazing.”

“He knew that was the only thing I cared about at work,” she said of Slater, 55.

“I’m like, I just need to get Friday off,” he said Buffy the Vampire Slayer the actress continued, adding that work asks her if her children are okay.

“Well, I’m going to Miami to see the Eras Tour,” she recalled saying. “I saw it in LA, but she didn’t Department for tortured poets. So I wanted to go see it Tortured poetsand I got to see Florence Welch.”

Gellar attended one of the Eras Tour dates in August 2023 at SoFi Stadium, a few months before Swift announced her latest album. TTPD was dropped in April, and the 14-time Grammy winner surprised her fans with a new on-stage album launch segment in May.

One of the new songs, “Florida!!!” includes Welch, 38, who appeared at all three Miami shows to sing a song with Swift — a moment Gellar called “next level.”

In addition to the Miami shows, Welch appeared at a concert on August 20 at Wembley Stadium to duet the high-energy song. “I’m performing ‘Florida!!!’ with Flo for the first time was unforgettable and Ed took me back to our old Red Tour memories,” Swift wrote on Instagram at the time.

On Sunday, December 8, Swift wrapped up her Eras Tour, which began in March 2023 and spanned dozens of cities on five continents.

Days after her last show, Swift celebrated the end of her tour with a surprise Eras Tour-themed party thrown by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
