Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin Were ‘Happy’ During ‘Relaxing Vacation’ in Mexico Together (Exclusive Source)

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin seemed to be in good spirits while vacationing together in Mexico.

The couple are usually private when it comes to their relationship, but on Monday, photos emerged of the actress, 34, and the Coldplay singer, 46, spending time with each other.

A source tells PEOPLE the couple was on a “relaxing vacation.”

“They stayed in Punta Mita for several days. They seemed happy. It was just the two of them. They were hanging out on the beach. Dakota was reading a book. They also practiced yoga and meditation.”

Another source added that the Hollywood couple “relaxed, talked, read, swam, walked, [and] holding hands” during their speedy escape.

According to an insider, Johnson and Martin’s trip appeared to be last-minute, and the two returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Vacation in Punta Mita came just a few days after Madame Web star attended the film’s premiere in Mexico City at Cinemex Antara Polanco on February 13.

The 50 shades of gray alum plays New York paramedic Cassandra Webb, who gains psychic powers that allow her to see the future. Madame Web is based on and featured in the 1980s Marvel Comics character Spider man stories.

“I wasn’t really a comic book fan before. This was a new world for me,” Johnson told PEOPLE at the film’s Los Angeles premiere last week.

“It’s about empowering women and women supporting and protecting each other and stepping into their own power,” Johnson added.

Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow shared a photo of herself and Johnson on social media last year and added that they are very close.

“We’re actually really good friends,” the Oscar winner, 51, said in October 2023 while participating in a Q&A on her Instagram Story. “I love her very much.”

The following month, Paltrow posted another photo of herself and Johnson smiling while holding hands.

Martin and Paltrow married in 2003 before “consciously separating” in 2014 and finalizing their divorce in 2016. The “Paradise” singer began dating Johnson in 2017.

During the visit in March 2023 Conan O’Brien needs a friend podcast, Martin gave a rare insight into his relationship with Johnson, explaining how she helped his band improve their performances for the hearing impaired.

The singer said that his girlfriend introduced him to SubPacs – a device that allows hearing-impaired people to feel the vibrations of a concert.

Martin added that the implementation of her proposal was “amazing” and that anyone who wanted to use the device “would have an area where you put your backpack and you can feel the show.”
