Dallas Cowboys Kicker Brandon Aubrey Signs Post Malone’s Jersey Before Thursday Night Football Game

“Congratulations” to Dallas Cowboys player Brandon Aubrey – because Post Malone is a fan!

Ago Thursday night football On Sept. 26, the singer and offensive lineman, both 29, linked up on the field at MetLife Stadium before the Cowboys faced the New York Giants.

In a video of the interaction shared by the Cowboys on Xu (formerly Twitter), the longtime Cowboys fan got Aubrey — a second-year player with one of the most accurate feet in the league — to sign his No. 17 jersey.

The two snuggled, hugged and chatted briefly before Aubrey left to get ready for the game, which the Cowboys won, 20-15.

The Grapevine, Texas native is hardly Aubrey’s only fan. The Notre Dame product has an unconventional background to go along with his deadly accurate range.

Aubrey played professional soccer for Toronto FC before joining the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions for two seasons on his circuitous journey to the NFL.

The Cowboys signed the kicker in 2023, but not before he worked for five years as a software development engineer at GM Financial, which happens to be down the street from AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Aubrey and his wife, Jenn, were watching an NFL game when they realized he should give professional sports another chance, ESPN writes.

“It wasn’t really after seeing each other [an NFL player’s] missed shot, because I think whenever a player misses an opportunity, the reaction is, ‘Oh, I could have done that,'” Jenn told the paper. “We were just watching the game and I thought, ‘Honestly, Brandon can do it.’ ”

Aubrey began working with a hitting coach in Dallas, which led him to meet Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott — who became so impressed with his talent that he nicknamed him “Butter” — and caught the attention of Cowboys scouts.

In more than 20 games since joining the team last season, Aubrey had missed just two field goals before going right on a 51-yard attempt Thursday night. Just days earlier in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the kicker had set a franchise record, hitting a 65-yard field goal.

After Thursday night’s game, Prescott joked that Aubrey missed out because she was “too short.”

“He’s special, he’s a great talent,” Prescott told reporters. “I think so [last] one was too short for him. He just wanted to give them a bit of a cinematic ending.”
