Dan Ahdoot is an Iranian-American Jewish actor, writer, producer and comedian. He is best known for his stand-up comedy and his appearances on Disney’s Kickin’ It, Showtime’s Shameless and the Sesso series Bajillion Dollar Propertie$.

Dan Ahdoot was born in Great Neck, New York on Sunday, March 29, 1981 (40 years old in 2021). His star sign is Aries. After completing his studies in New York, Dan went to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore City to study pre-med, where he gravitated towards stand-up comedy and decided to pursue comedy as a full-time career. He began writing skits for the Hopkins improvisation group Buttered Niblets, but the group considered the skits edgy and rejected them. Dan performed his first stand-up show at the Winchester Comedy Club in Baltimore.

Profession
As a comedian
After completing his pre-med years, Dan began taking acting classes with the comedy improvisation groups Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City New York. Soon, Dan teamed up with five other people to form his own improvisation group, Gunshow. In addition to improvisation, Dan worked as an advertising sales researcher at Comedy Central. At a Comedy Central party, Dan met a writer who was working on the show Crank Yankers and was looking for a writer to get some original concepts for. He sent the writer some concept ideas and the writers of the show were so impressed that they hired him as a freelance writer. Dan left after two years on the show to pursue a stand-up career and open for comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Lewis Black, and Jay Mohr. Dan has written for shows on CBS, FOX, Hulu, Freeform, and Pop TV.
As an actor
Dan made his digital debut in the 2007 film Twisted Fortune, playing the role of Hrundi Bakshi Jr. He then starred in the Disney XD comedy television series Kickin’ It. Since then, he has appeared in many television shows and films. Dan is best known for his role as Amir Yaghoob in the American comedy series Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. In 2018, Dan received critical acclaim for his role as “Anoush” in the martial arts comedy television series Cobra Kai.

- According to Dan, he tried to impress girls during his freshman year, and even learned salsa dancing in order to achieve this feat; however, he failed in this attempt. At a college karaoke party, Dan thought it would be cool and funny to sing “The Rainbow Connection” in Kermit’s voice; however, people laughed at him for this action and continued to make fun of him throughout his college life.
- Adut’s jokes vary in genre, and his favorite jokes are racial jokes and jokes about his father. According to Dan, his father is an American immigrant who only cares about his family’s life in the United States and has no idea about other things happening around him. He further added that his father’s lack of knowledge of American culture provides new content for his comedy creation.
