Dan Hurley is an American college basketball coach who currently serves as the head coach of the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team. He was born in 1973 in Jersey City, New Jersey, and is the son of legendary high school basketball coach Bob Hurley Sr.
Hurley played college basketball at Seton Hall University from 1991 to 1996, where he was a four-year letterman and team captain during his senior year. After graduating, he played professional basketball overseas for several years before returning to the United States to pursue a coaching career.
Hurley began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Rutgers University in 1997. He then spent time as an assistant coach at St. Anthony and at Wagner College before becoming the head coach at St. John’s Preparatory School in 2001. Benedict’s.
