Dancing On Ice’s full line-up revealed as 90s pop icon, Gogglebox star and Coronation Street legend join show

The impressive line-up of DANCING On Ice for 2024 has been revealed.

ITV has attracted a diverse line-up of sporting legends, reality TV stars and even a 90s pop icon – who are about to embark on their skating journey.

For some famous faces, this will be the first time they learn to dance.

Others have been on the BBC’s rival dance show Strictly Come Dancing, but transferring their skills to the ice could prove tricky.

Here, we take a look at the full list of celebrities confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2024 – and the two expected to be revealed today.

The 44-year-old is not afraid of a challenge and was the first celebrity to be announced for the upcoming series.

“If I can hold my temper in the boxing ring, I should be able to hold my temper in the ice rink,” Ricky said.

“I like to set new challenges and be busy!”

Fans were left gutted when it was revealed that Hannah Spearritt won’t be joining S Club 7 on tour, but will soon be on our TVs every weekend.

The ’90s pop star has been reeling lately from the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Paul Cattermole.

Now it looks like the 42-year-old will be busy focusing on learning to skate in front of millions.

I’m really excited about learning new skills,” she said.

“It’s so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing.

“Fitness is another reason I do it! It’s really exciting.”

She follows in the footsteps of fellow S Club member Rachel who was the third to be eliminated from the 2022 competition.

Actress Claire Sweeney is this year’s star of the soap and will be working to secure viewers’ votes to stay in the competition.

She has since been on television for more than three decades after starting her career on Brookside.

Claire recently returned to the soap world, joining Coronation Street as Cassandra Plummer who is the biological mother of Tyrone Dobbs.

Single mother Claire says she is doing Ice Dancing for her eight-year-old son.

She said: I’m really looking forward to going to the rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not having to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright!”

He was axed from EastEnders in 2015 after a controversial video of him was leaked online.

After falling into depression and disappearing from the industry, Ricky returns to the ITV dance show.

He said: “Being on the ice! I’m afraid of lifting, especially headbangers.

“I have to trust the process, trust the training, trust the coaches.”

Ricky played Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb until he was dramatically killed in a car accident in 2015.

Comedian and writer Lou Sanders was the eighth celebrity confirmed to take part in the new series of Dancing On Ice.

She may be one of the least known stars in the line-up, but she says ITV’s long-running answer to Strictly was her “dream thing”.

Revealing the news exclusively to Nihal Arthanayake on Radio Five Live today, Lou said: “I’m nervous about busting my head or just busting my old head.

“I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells. I’m also worried if my partner is going to pick me up, he’s going to have to be very strong and very brave.”

Lou is best known for appearing on shows including Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown

Long jump star Greg Rutherford has jumped to second favorite in the betting odds for the Ice Dance – before he’s even been on the ice.

The Olympian – who won gold in 2020 – excitedly told fans he was going to perform a trick that had “never been done before” on the show.

Greg said: “My kids love to dance so I hope they enjoy watching me dance with blades on my feet!

“I think it’s going to be a really different experience, but one that’s going to be pretty exciting.

“I love a challenge and I needed a reason to get out and do things again and here we are.

“I want to do something I’ve never done before, that’s my goal.

Self-confessed adrenaline junkie Amber Davies will take a break from entertaining theatergoers to star in Dancing on Ice.

The 27-year-old – who is already a bookie favorite – snapped: “The younger me would never have believed this!”

Since winning Love Island in 2017 alongside then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay, Amber has fulfilled her dream of becoming an actress.

She worked with country music legend Dolly Parton who gave her advice when she made her debut in the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical.

Amber has put her role as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman: The Musical on hold while she attends Ice Dance training next year.

Announcing the news, Amber said: “I would definitely say I’m an adrenaline junkie but I’m getting more nervous as I get older and hopefully I can keep them under control, I don’t want the adrenaline to get the better of me.”

She added: “I can count the number of times I’ve skated on the fingers of one hand.”

Professional couch potato Stephen Lustig-Webb is used to watching celebrities compete on the country’s biggest reality TV shows – but now he’s one of them.

The 52-year-old quit Gogglebox last month to pursue something new.

Now he’s ready to learn how to skate in front of the nation when the series begins in January.

Stephen said: “I wanted a new challenge and they don’t come much bigger than this!

“DANCE ON ICE. Excited to put on my skates and be a part of this amazing show.”

“I’ve always loved dancing but it’s usually on the dance floor on a Saturday night and Dancing On Ice seems so difficult,” Miles said.

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts faced the biggest challenge of her life when she was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago.

Now the presenter is celebrating her survival by signing up for Dancing on Ice.

Adele was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago and said she was “very lucky” to be “fit enough and well enough to do it”.

With a new life, the former star of the series I am famous is learning to skate.

Adele said: “For me it’s ‘bricking it on ice’! I think the hardest part is putting myself out there because I usually hide.

“I’ve been doing radio because it’s not visual. It’s going to be a big challenge. I’ve got my life back after cancer; I’m actually looking forward to the glam!”

Soap star Roxy Shahidi, who has played Leyla Harding in Emmerdale since 2008, is thought to be in the full cast, which has yet to be confirmed.

A source close to the actress – who is also a qualified yoga instructor – called her the “perfect choice” for the show.

They told The Sun: “ITV always want their big soap stars in Dancing On Ice and Roxy is the one they’re looking for from Emmerdale this year.

“She’s the perfect choice – she’s been in the soap for 15 years, so she’s very familiar to audiences who already relate to her, and she’s absolutely stunning, which always helps.”

Ryan Thomas

Former Coronation Street legend Ryan is expected to be the latest name in the 2024 line-up.

The 39-year-old is engaged to Towie’s Lucy Mecklenburgh, 32, and left his role as Jason Grimshaw in 2016.

His brother Adam is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing.

A source said of Ryan joining the show: “He’s got a big personality so he’s going to make reality TV. Ryan looks forward to the challenge of doing something different.”
