Dancing with the Stars: See Who's Returning to Co-Host and Judge for Season 33 (Exclusive)

The whole gang is coming back Dancing with the stars for season 33!

PEOPLE can exclusively confirm that Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will reprise their duties as co-hosts for the upcoming 33rd season of the hit competition dance show.

In addition to Hough and Ribeiro, who can be seen busting a move alongside professional dancers in PEOPLE’s exclusive teaser, judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return to their seats on the judging panel.

ABC will announce the celebrity dancers who will compete in the Season 33 cast at a later date.

In July 2022, it was announced that Ribeiro, 52, would co-host the 31st season DWTS alongside then-host Tyra Banks. It also marked the first season of the show to be moved to Disney+ instead of live on ABC, where it first debuted.

Julianne, 36, later joined as a co-host on the season of 32 Days after ABC announced that Banks was stepping down from hosting after three seasons in March 2023. The actress previously starred as a professional dancer on DWTS from 2007 to 2009. She later returned as a judge for six seasons between 2014 and 2021.

In June 2023, Ribeiro spoke of his excitement to have Julianne join the show as a host.

“I think our chemistry will be fantastic. We’ve known each other for so long. She was a judge on my season,” he told Party tonight. “We’ve known each other for years and our energy is so good. We sat down and had lunch and two and a half hours later, we said, ‘I guess we should go home and do things.’ ‘ And I think that kind of chemistry and friendship will come across to the audience in the play.”

As for the referees, Inaba, 56, and Tonioli, 68, have held their roles since DWTS‘ start on ABC in June 2005.

Derek, 39, joined the show as a judge in season 29 and has continued to serve on the judging panel ever since. He was originally a professional dancer on the show from seasons 5 to 11. Although he took a break for season 12, he returned for seasons 13-21 and again in season 23.

In September 2020, it was announced that he would return to the series, but move to a refereeing role. “This show has been and always will be incredibly special to me,” Derek said in a statement at the time. “Coming back is like coming home and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the ballroom.”
