Robert Downey Jr. he returns as Iron Man after all!

Josh D’Amaro, President of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, shared some exciting news involving a Marvel favorite.

Among many other announcements at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on Saturday, August 10, it was confirmed that more new rides and attractions will be coming to Disneyland in Anaheim, California, as part of its DisneylandForward expansion project. And two of them will show Downey Jr. who once again returns to the skin of Tony Stark.

Iron Man: Avengers Infinity Defense will see guests traveling through the multiverse to New York City, Asgard and Wakanda to battle King Thanos. And there’s the Stark Flight Lab, where guests will sit in two-person capsules that will be assigned to a test station.

Changes to the Avengers Campus will see the area double in size, PEOPLE previously reported.

Stark Flight Lab is one of the new attractions coming to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

D’Amaro announced that construction on both rides will begin soon.

“We’re going to find that some of this global technology is gone and now King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc on multiple worlds,” Disney Portfolio Executive Creative Director Scott Trowbridge said of the Avengers Infinity Defense plot, per Entertainment Weekly.

“It will be all hands on deck as we assemble the Avengers to take on his army,” he continued, suggesting the ride will feature “favorite heroes, big and small.”

The resort’s $1.9 billion expansion was approved by the Anaheim City Council on May 7, with all seven council members voting in favor.

Over the next 10 years, Disney’s investment will go toward updating rides, attractions, land, lodging, entertainment and shopping — without increasing park square footage.
